I am working with a client who is undertaking the Foundations for Meditation short course who truly wants to meditate and allow it to take her where she needs to go. Yet, she believes that as hard as she tries, she simply cannot meditate. She feels herself going into a deep state of consciousness and then suddenly, will fly back - too afraid to continue because of what she might uncover.
She is also physically unwell. Excessively tired, headaches, back problems, jaw tension, vision problems and multiple inner ear infections causing immense pain. Dr's advise that she has to live with the pain as they don't know the cause. So for a very long time, she has.
I needed to understand what was occurring when she tried to meditate so I taught her the steps to follow before going into a meditation and then guided her. I soon saw that she was so deep, she could not hear my voice. I moved her through the meditation and brought her back. She indicated that she had heard me up to a point and then nothing, however she felt relaxed and lighter.
Her body was so tired, it obviously needed nurturing. When next we met, she looked defeated and apologised for wasting my time however we commenced the steps and I took her into a lighter meditative state to focus on rest. She came out of the meditation saying she had heard my voice and felt a huge release of stress and tension. She was amazed with herself and we are now working on letting go of fear, grief and sadness as well as allowing her body to regenerate.
After years of sacrificing her own wellness to care for others, it is time for her to give to herself.
Hyper mobility syndrome is a condition whereby joints easily move beyond the normal range - the joints are very 'flexible'. It can result in soreness and pain. For some it makes it difficult to walk easily within the world, participate in sports and live without restriction or pain. It impacts self image. particularly for children as they learn to cope.
From an energetic perspective, those with Hyper mobility tend to have personalities which are very controlling. They like to know exactly what is occurring around them, they are inflexible in their thoughts and actions and refuse to change. Often, they are highly self critical. The more inflexible they are in their thinking, the more flexible the degree of hyper mobility experienced.
This mental attitude or way of Being, creates an imbalance in the body. The imbalance or dis-ease is exhibited through greater flexibility in muscles, ligaments and joints. The degree of 'stiffness' in a persons thinking and how they perceive themselves is countered by the body's degree of flexibility.
The dis-ease may manifest due to a persons fear of life, fear of people in their life or fear for their personal safety.
Negative inner thoughts and fears are manifested in our bodies through dis-ease.
Meditation may provide a tool for anyone experiencing debilitating hyper mobility with the goal of connecting with their fears, unravelling them, understanding them, accepting them and then releasing them. It may be used to assist in reducing physical pressure and pain from the body and to strengthen inner resilience.
I have witnessed the benefits meditation can have over time in regards to dealing with hyper mobility.
Parkinson's Disease too has a very similar energetic signature - a neurological dis-ease which slowly takes all control away from the person. This is an extreme form of energetic dis-ease, manifested through the desire or need for one to have absolute control over their lives and all that surrounds them or, generated from the feeling they have absolutely no control over their lives and therefore focus their energy on gaining it.
This appears a simplistic observation regarding a very complex disease, however often, on one level - in the 'simple', the answer appears.
How do you value yourself? See your worth?
don't - if we have a lot then lose it, we are saying that we do not feel we deserve lots of money or we don't believe we are capable of managing it, so give it away to others.
This is a form of conditional love.
What happened to respecting and loving ourselves for who we are no matter "what" we are?
For not using judgment to measure our worth? To simply accept that we have gifts and skills that are wonderful and perhaps flaws and lessons to be learned is fine too.
It seems to me, there are no harsher words that could be said than the one's we say to ourselves....if we believe we are failures, then of course we are. If we believe we will be hurt in love, then of course we will be....if we believe we are stupid, then of course, we are stupid and if we believe we are worthless, then we will be poor.
What we believe about ourselves is what we become - so change the words.
Change your belief system and create positive affirmations so that you may change your energy and rise.
The energy of this year is coming to an end, stepping aside to allow the new era energy to emerge. Are you prepared to step into to it? Are you excited to see what this new energy brings or are you simply so worn out from the year past that you wish not to think, not be anything except still and quiet?
I speak to many people who are filled with sadness, loneliness, heartache, fear of the future, uncertainty and they are tired. In fact many are exhausted emotionally and physically.
We carry so many responsibilities and concerns about our every day lives, we start to lose sight of why we chose to come, what we are here to explore, learn, experience, share and mostly, how to laugh and live in peace, calm and joy.
What we do learn, is to accept less than in life - for fear of failure, disappointment or judgment - perhaps all three. Eventually we slow down and do not strive to connect to our higher Selves, to listen to our intuition, to follow our own gut feelings and guidance - we play it safe - we hide.
It is time to step out of your habits and your acceptance of less to connect, listen and grow. To learn what it is you have come to learn before it is too late. To build bridges from Personality to Soul to Essence and to traverse the Galaxy to find your unique note in the Symphony of the Universe.
Expand - your knowing, your energy and your abundance.
Set your intent for the New Energy and then take the steps to manifest it without fear, but in the knowing that all is well and you are at-one with the Universe. That the Universe always looks after you and you receive more than you ever wanted.
The key is allowing yourself to accept abundance on all levels of your Being and to ask for abundance on all levels of your Being - Spiritual, Financial, Physical. Relationships
If you do not ask for assistance and support, it cannot be given.
Learn to Ask. Learn to Connect. Learn to Listen and to Hear.
Then trust in your Self and act.
We each have certain lessons to learn during our lifetimes in order to move forward.
When these lessons are not learned, when obstacles do not teach us what we need to know, we simply repeat them...over and over. Pretty boring when you think about it - coming up against the same obstacles, hardships and difficulties time and time again.
We create the challenges or obstacles in our lives, so it is difficult to blame others for things that do not go smoothly or failures we experience. We cannot simply be victims and say that things happen to us, that we are not in control - although we can of course choose to be victims so as not to take responsibility for what occurs.
When we have physical or neurological conditions, we have them for a reason for they are part of our lessons. They create the environment in which we can learn what we have not learnt in the past.
We can choose to sit in anger and frustration - being a Victim - or take control and work with the challenges presented. It is our choice.
Spiritual learning through the obstacles and challenges we each face is part of our Voyage. When facing adversity, disappointment, fear and anger, step out of the emotion for emotion will take you on a circular roller coaster to nowhere. Choose to let go of your fears, take control and think logically as to what steps you may take to move through the situation so as to create a positive outcome in your highest good,
If you give up, you will remain static and that is not what is meant to occur.
Let go of fears that imprison you and take small steps forward each day,
Listen to your intuition and take control of your future.
Respond to your lesson instead of reacting and you will learn what it is you need to learn so as to move forwards.
Have you asked yourself of late if you are having fun in your lives?
If not, ask yourself now - are you?
Or did you immediately think this to be a frivolous question and wonder who are you to be having fun?
Fun is not for you because life is a serious matter and you treat it seriously.
Over that past few years I find myself reflecting upon whether I am having fun - or not. Previously I was very serious and did not feel that fun was much for me. Of course I took pleasure in my work, my friends, my family and was always happy when they were yet I felt fun was beyond my grasp as I focussed on fulfilling my various roles.
I had a friend who always ended her emails with "are you having fun?" or " are you having an adventure?". Wistfully and quickly my eyes would float over the words...I wondered why she placed so much importance on having 'fun'.
What I can say from my perspective, is that we are in this life to live it to the fullest. In joy, happiness and in fun. If fun and lightness are not present, we are left with drudgery and darkness. Why would we choose that?
We do at times lose sight of having fun and we do lose sight of lightness as we move through our days, weeks and years. Best not to judge ourselves but to be mindful of asking ourselves now and again if we are indeed, having fun.
If not, then why not.
If you have lost your way, your motivation or you reason to be, sit in silence and ask yourself why.
You will hear the answer if you are open to it.
You will not if you are sitting in fear of what you might hear.
Listen to your inner voice for it has much to share with you.
It seems many of us spend most of our energy and time 'doing' in our lives - doing was needs to be done or what is expected and we value ourselves based upon how much we 'do' rather than who we 'be'.
As we move through the year, our lives tend to speed up as what needs to be done demands greater attention. Work commitments, family, friends, bills, relationships and looking after pets - the list goes on until there is no room left in our minds to dream. We juggle and we become practical.
Do you ever step back and do an audit on your life?
Ask yourself, who in my life supports me or depletes me?
Is my job enhancing my life or dulling it?
Am I coping financially?
Is my health as good as it could be?
Is my heart singing, calm and at peace?
Am I happy being exactly where I am, doing what I am and see myself as a success?
If you are able to answer yes to these questions, then you are attuned to your inner guidance and all is well.
If not, it presents a good opportunity to audit your life. To sweep away that which does not serve your well-being, balance and happiness and start to listen to your intuition.
Learning to meditate, to connect to your higher self will allow you to ask questions and hear answers that will guide you. To learn to trust in yourself is a gift. To know that you are safe and supported, too is a gift.
Looking after yourself is the most valuable gift of all.
Learn to meditate so as to connect to your Heart Chakra to hear what is waiting to be shared.
Do you REACT or RESPOND to circumstances that are affecting you?
Do you react from an emotional perspective where your EMOTIONS are in control of any decisions you make, or, do you detach from your emotions, think about what is ocurring calmly and respond in a measured way?
When you REACT, your Soul cannot bring to you what it required. If your emotional body is dancing all over the place, you are not going to create or manifest that which you seek because your emotional body is interfering with the process.
It is beneficial to learn to DETACH from your emotions so that you are not experiencing extremes. When you are controlled by your Emotional Body, you step out of balance. You are not calm, your mind is clouded and you become highly sensitive.
When next you experience a circumstance that makes you feel sad, angry, anxious or depressed, before you yell, cry or run, try to acknowledge that you are being controlled by your emotions and stop for a minute. Focus on your breathing, repeat to yourself that you are calm and in control as you breath rhythmically, allow the emotion to dissipate. When you have stepped out of the emotion, ask yourself why did the circumstance arise, who created the circumstance, how is it directed at you, how does it affect you, what is the intent of this circumstance and is it directed personally or not.
Ask yourself about the role you played in the circumstance. Look at the big picture to understand the intent and if that intent is to diminish you or to support you.
If you are being undermined, dismissed or attacked, ask yourself why you are there.
You have to know that where you are in your life is exactly where your Soul wants you to be even if you do not think it makes much sense.
What you focus on you create, so if you genuinely focus on abundance, you will create abundance.
If you focus on you FEAR, you will create what you fear.
Where there is judgment, there cannot be success. If you hold judgments about yourself and your life, let go of them. Until you do, nothing can change or shift within.
Affirm that you wish to shift the Energy.
Focus on what you seek to manifest.
Ask, and know you are taken care of.
